A United States District Judge indicated in a hearing today that a little more time is needed to consider the fate of data uploaded by a Megaupload user and lost when the file-hosting company was closed without warning by U.S. authorities. The user's case is being championed by the EFF who heard today that an order would be issued "shortly". Additionally, the judge said he would schedule a hearing to consider Megaupload's motion to dismiss.Source: Megaupload Judge To Issue Order On Return Of User Data “Shortly” Source: TorrentFreakNews leaked on: 6/30/2012

I think people are too hopeful.
Most likely the US will 'lose' the data or put in road blocks for years and years, till said data is pretty much forgotten.
The MU we all knew and loved is GONE, time to get over it.

The MU we all knew and loved is GONE, time to get over it. There's a fine line between being realistic and just plain pessimist, apparently you're the latter.

After all that's happened, only a FOOL would think that (if hell freezes over) and DotCom gets all his data/stuff back that things will go back to the way that they were. The point system is GONE. Being lax on pirated material is GONE. Because they mostly used 3rd party servers to RENT space... Most of the data is GONE/hard as hell to get.

The US feds are douche enough to throw an accidental bomb on things than to admit defeat, everybody knows this. But what I fail to understand is how anybody would be turning a blind eye on their screw ups after all thats happened. Even for a group as big as the US, its just not that simple for them to walk out of it as happily as they want to. Nothing's gone that can't be brought back, at the very least don't think of this as something impossible. Heck the biggest reason why I'm having second thoughts about all this is because of the convicted man himself! I mean seriously, take a look at his tweets: http://twitter.com/#!/KimDotcom/You were saying how only a fool would believe that everything can go back to the way it was right? Well guess what, that FOOL is Kim dotcom! He's been constantly yapping about reviving back MU and calling on revolution as if this case were a piece of cake! o__O Please tell me I'm not the only one who's concerned with his statements, really anybody?

If they do give the data back, they'll probably ask individuals to collect it through the feds. Can you imagine someone going in and asking for their 600 episodes of Power Rangers back?

I dont think it will be like that maybe you might provide links to the file. The bots check if the material is copyrighted. If it is then they will send you a notification telling they cant give you the file back.Bassically it will be like Youtube.

You'd all honestly feel perfectly safe and willing to download from Megaupload all over again like there was never a massive lawsuit against/over it for the entire year of 2012?
