Hey all, I was hoping that someone knows how to download the subtitles from Crunchyroll's anime shows as in download them to an "srt" format file so I can put them in an "mkv" using Handbrake. I need to know this because I have been downloading a bunch of Crunchyroll shows with video and audio only. Thanks

If Crunchyroll's anime are soft subbed then you should be able to use MKVextract to extract the subs. But I do not think it will be SRT subs, they will probably be ASS or SSA subs. If they are hard subbed then you can't extract them.

Do they have to be SRT subs and do they have to specifically be Crunchyroll's subs? There are probably fansubbers who are also subbing those shows.

You're stupid. Crunchyroll is a streaming website (that took 30 seconds to find out on Google). The original poster is trying to nab subtitles from their web streams, not extract subtitles from a file. Also from his method of writing this, he's obviously trying to be the first person to release his version so he can defeat anyone who also does this (e.g. Horriblesubs).

As for the answer itself, as far as I can tell, the only two methods are: dumping the stream from memory or figuring out how to decrypt the encrypted sub string.

I heard people use shit like cheat engine for this. I was going to try with PBS, but it's time consuming.

But you should just find Horriblesubs' release for the shows you have (they rip from Crunchyroll) and use their subtitles anyways.

So the real answer is: no, you can't.

Your a shit for brains faggy little douche who likes to take it up the ass like some crack whore. See I can call people names too. You could have said that what I posted was incorrect or explained why you can't rip subs from crunchyroll.

Do they have separate subs from their streams? Is that a no? So I was offering different solutions.

If crunchyroll is the first to release something them wouldn't that make them first?

Yeah they actually do, the video (H264) and audio (aac) are stored on a FLV container server side. The subtitle stream is a SMIL file that the player loads at runtime. So you're wrong. ;/

No because Crunchyroll doesn't release files for download. They offer a means of watching programs via Flash. Release implies files. kthx.

If you're going to "call people names too" at least do it correctly. Of course that's not what I'm doing, I'm just stating the facts: you're stupid and obviously upset.
