My guess straw hats will go against one of them.
2. Blackbeard (Marshial.D.Tech) saga remains as the GRAND FINALLY!
3. Golen Leo OR Shinkhi has to come! (only one who escaped from impel down apart from lufy, the one who went toe to toe with The PIRATE KING)
4. Not to mention navy or the world governament budging in on the straw hats!
5. Still Dragon has to make his move!
6.--------------------- Fill in the blanks if have any others in mind!

In the end- 1000 might be less!

but it's worth it, the story doesn't drag like bleach so it makes it entertaining, but to anwser the question it's a very high possibility they're on like 507 now

To the contrary, size is one of the other reason I loved it! Its not like you watch it and that the end like in the movies. No matter how much any person likes a movie, he has to wait for a long time for a sequal! Thats not the case with anime!

I'm only on episode 370 at this point but I do have to say that I hope that Shanks is the one that Luffy has to fight to be Pirate King. I've seen Blackbeard's ability, and I saw the one episode brawl with Ace (I want to see more Ace), so it would be alright for them to finish with that fight. But the Shanks fight seems the right way to go to me.

Like I said I'm on episode 370 so the story has a lot of episodes to make things more clear before I catch up to the current ones.

I think it will end up around the 800 mark. but it might very well get there.

never 800, its freaking 1000..must be,,the latest episode which is 500+, the crew doesnt even past the new world hurdle yet..and if u read the manga, there will be a huge battle on mermaid island later so that will surely take about 50 episode or more..

Well I would have no problem if it were to reach 1000. I know that I will follow the Strawhats to the bitter end.

When you say they haven't past the New World hurdle yet are you saying that they haven't even entered the New World yet? If that's the case then I have no doubt we're looking at 1000. I'm about to get to the Fishman Island arc and I assumed that after that they would enter the New World.

Nonetheless, If the show takes 1000 episodes then I'll watch 1000 episodes. If it takes 2000 then I'll watch 2000.

This is my favorite anime and my favorite show of all time.

My wife and I just got through the human auction at the Sabaody Archipelago. Great stuff. They do seem to be headed toward a massive conflict with the marines and the top pirates that have made it to the island. So I can definitely see it running for another 500 episodes.

hm, i guess u have not come to whitebeard vs marine arc yet? then that means u r still so far away from the current episodes..well good luck watching..

Got through episode 414 last night with Luffy in Amazon Lily and they've laid the ground work for Whitebeard vs. The Marines in the last few episodes. I can't even express how excited I am for this. So I am far away from current as far as episodes are concerned, but with respect to the length of the show I'm on the home stretch.

I will change my first statement about 800 episodes and say that I hope that this show runs to 1000 or more. This show is just so great to me.

My wife told me the other day that when the kids go to bed that there's no need to even ask what she wants to watch. Just put in the disc and start it up.

One piece of advice friend, enjoy this feeling of watching these episodes for the first time. No other anime/tv series comes close to it. I haven't ever felt as connected and close to any other TV/Anime charachters as I do with the Strawhats. Plus the whole world that's created with the Pirates, Warlords, Marines are competing in the Grand Line is just so engrossing.

I do wish I could just erase One Piece from my mind so I could just experience the feeling of enjoying the entire show from the very start again. As someone else has already said, the Marineford Arc is still to come and that is arguably the best arc of the entire series. Keep us updated on your thoughts as you go through it.

In answer to the original question, there is easily another 600 episodes left so it'll definately go past the 1000 mark. The manga is currently at the half way point according to Oda so you guys can do the maths.
