Well i was just wondering how people make backgrounds?

Do you just get a texture then play around with it?
Do you make it from scratch by inserting objects like circles, bubbles, etc?

Basically I'm am alright with photoshop but i am terrible at making backgrounds. Just give me some tips on what to do. I'd appreciate it.

If you want to start making good backgrounds you can use Brushes. You can also use C4D's for effects. You can find some on www.deviantart.com

I'm not a super-prodigy or anything, but when I make graphics, a lot of times I will get a texture and play around with different filters, blend modes, etc. But like x.henna.x said, a relatively easy way to make them from scratch is with brushes. You can put down a solid base color first, then find a brush set you like and just try laying strokes down in random places using complementary colors to your background color. And then you can experiment with using different effects on the brush strokes if you want.

Two of my favorite places to find brushes are http://www.brusheezy.com/ and http://myphotoshopbrushes.com/brushes/page/.

Hope this helps!

There are many text effect tutorials on the net.. Many of them use a black background and finish the effect needed..Then they apply Hue/Saturation, without the black background, the color of the text won't change if you applied it. It color applied will be gone if I disable the black background.I needed the text effect without the background, and the text is impossible to render out.

You will easily make the background using the some layers , brushes , bubbles etc. I have also made the sweet backgrounds couple of days ago. It is look like very pretty, I want to add some different colour over it. I hope that I will show this background as well.

I graphics, a texture I get a lot of time to be playing around with different filters, mode, many of them, etc. Use a black background and eliminate the need to mix effects. Apply the paint if I need to disable the black background.I background without text effects will be gone, and the text is impossible to render out.
