It sickens me to see rapidshare in second. My top two now are mediafire and jumbofiles.
i've heard good things about jumbofiles, glumbouploads, mediafire, and ddlanime.
Basically I found this post because I was actually going to rant about some of the hosts that I keep seeing people use. (quoted you since you said DDLA) Now I am not ranting at you just so you know...
Am I the only one that get's terrible speeds from DDLA and half of the links (if not most) say file unavailable server is down. I don't even remember if they had annoying wait times or waits between files or captchas, because it takes me so long to download one, and then more than likely the rest of what I was going for is unavailable anyways.
Then there's File Factory, Another one that I think gives me bad download speeds, and I say think because for the last 2 days, any FF link i've tried says, no free slots available try later...
Now Rapidshit, that one blows my mind, I will admit that they do get on my bad side from their constant policy changes, and blatant abuse of free users (speed cap at 30kbs.. I didn't get good speeds from them before that (not THAT bad though) and the wait times, their only plus with me is no capchas so I could have at least downloaded while I slept), They cancelled my premium account, not because of what I uploaded (which was nothing) but because of something I downloaded. But then there are the people that think everyone loves rapidshare so they will share everything on it, and break it down into little links... which I've found has been between 50-100 mbs, so if I want to get a large file, I have ended up with a 200 part rar files... Thank god I had premium at that time, but I still shed a tear for the free users that had to look somewhere else.
Filesonic, I get terrible speeds, and was always an unpleasant experience (luckily it seems people have stopped using them).
Fileserve, a much more pleasant experience for me... until the MU thing happened, they weren't very bad or good, however the queues seemed to include filesonic, as whenever i was dling from one the other one said I couldn't have simultaneous downloads. (which I understand it's the same company, but if they really are going to have two identical services, what gives them the right for them to have them cancel each other out).
Wupload/hotfile/depositfiles - while they seem to be close to the same to me, I at least get decent speeds from them, which allows me to put up with the capchas and cooldowns (time between file downloads).
There were some others that bother me, mostly due to crappy speeds, capchas, and cooldowns.
Jumbofiles - I approve, I don't have any real issues with this one, actually could be my favorite over mediafire, but I think it's tied and for some reason I put it slightly under mediafire.
Mediafire - my favorite, this and jumbofiles work great for me.
That said why do some people repeatedly use some of those slower ones, I see a lot of people with good looking shows and then I see if I want to watch it it will be downloading for the next hour, which makes me have to look somewhere else.
But I won't rant to the person, since they ARE sharing, but that doesn't mean I won't get frustrated about it. Now that my anger has been vented, I will say this, if you can't tell what my most hated service on the list is, it's rapidshare.
