I used to build my own, but right now I have an HP which I got for about 180 bucks (I still feel it was an excellent deal).
I also used to do high end gaming, but I kinda stopped at WoW... well there are the H-games but they have pretty tame requirements.... Anywho I realized I don't need a super highend machine anymore, but I do keep with using a desktop so that If I do want to make an adjustment of some kind (or toy around inside it) I can, without it being too much of a hassle.
Now, I am thinking of getting a cheapo laptop which I'll just download TV shows at work or school or something then watch them in my free time. (only WiFi needed and I can access that almost anywhere.

(only WiFi needed and I can access that almost anywhere. What ate ur specs then? Don't think anything ate my specs lol, well anywho right now AMD Athalon X2 Dual Core 4200+ (2.2Ghz each) vista 32bit (I've never felt the urge to go 64 bit but I suppose I will whenever I do my next upgrade) 4g ram ddr2 800mhz Kingston (if you are a namebrand type guy) (originally 2gig so +$35 for upgrade) Geforce 8600 512 mb (upgrade +$50) 2.5TB storage (orignally 250Gig, however I am a scavenger so +$80 of what I bought for this) 19" LG widescreen flatscreen (or plasma, oh well I was using a 10y/o 21" CRT so this was a pretty big upgrade for me) Dual layer dvd burner Card reader (upgrade for me) Corsair 400w Power supply (again, if you are a namebrand type of guy, I don't care about Power supplies much though since I've never had one fail on me, and I usually would buy the cheapo generic) I believe that's it, so basically $180 for a number of upgrades over my old machine then add $165 for the 1.5 tb drive, video card, and memory, total ended up being $345, and most of that was optional or compulsive... hehehe. And I've been using it for about 2.5 years, ah I love my pawn shop. And the only reason for me to upgrade now is something go terribly wrong with my computer (mobo problem and me not feeling like doing the work and buying a barebones kit and moving my HDs video card and memory (if necessary) over.
