I hereby to present you "The Official Anime Recommendation Thread"
Request your anime recommendation here.

Afro Samurai: This one was pretty cool looking, kind of simuler (How you spell that?) to champloo, but the gore and the sexual content i couldn't handle.(against my probation rules man. I can make an excuse for the boondocks making fun of hip-hop showing obscene things, but this was serious sexual shit) [Moncus]

Air Gear: Air gear. Out of 10 id give it a... 9.0 I really enjoyed the anime. It has enough comedy to make you bust out laughing where you sit or stand as well as a really good plot and action to it.Highly recommended for anyone that wants a change of pace in anime and 1 hell of a fight comedy anime. Akira: This Movie set the stadards for almost all action/suspense anime series due to the complextivity of the story line and imagination. If you like Movies/Series that have a little suspense/drama and will get your mind working all the way through the end then this is a great Movie to watch. [Mavrik]
Appleseed (2004)
Avatar The Last Airbender: Ok the movie just ended so I'm making my new recommendations.
I can't recommend this series enough. Throws a different perspective on things using the elements as bending. Its got action, lots of comedy, its got 1 hell of a story, the graphics aren't full on high tech nor is it full on cartoon, it stays comfortably in between. On top of all that it's got your off hand romance that doesn't screw with the series or story.
If all that isn't enough theirs enough episodes to make you lose sleep for an entire week trying to watch every single episode. Great characters, great dubbing, great visual, great great. And if you say it's not an anime piss off lol.
I give this anime a solid 10 of 10. I think i'm even gonna re watch it all soon. [coolyfooly]

Basilisk: Another Ninja anime series that has plenty of action and a fairly decent storyline behind it. Almost like watching a Romeo & Juliet with Ninjas, the only downside is some of the characters don't get enough development before being killed off. [Mavrik]

Chrono Crusade (or Chrno Crusade): In this series the main character works for the church and her sidekick is a demon that wants to stop the rest of the demons from taking over earth. Again this series is a little lighter than others, has a few comical moments, and there's a lot of references to Mary and her connections with Christ [Mavrik]
Code Geass
Cowboy Bebop: By "coolyfooly"
Coyote Ragtime: It's a space anime about a team of space pirates called coyotes searching for a treasure all the while running from the feds and assassins. It's a close similarity to cowboy bebop but with a better plot. Action, gunfights, a pretty good plot, A hell of alot of cussing and comedy, and smartass characters.I give it a 8.8 [coolyfooly]

Daphne in the Brilliant Blue: Very nice anime, good plot and good story progression which all leads to a very touching ending. In between the story is filled with action and comedy and give tidbits of clues as to the main characters past. Despite the really scantily clad main cast of women this is no ecchi title. Darker Than Black
Dead Leaves: Review by "everyone is a robot"
Death Note: Even though there are quite a few action scenes, that's not what this anime is all about. The focus is more on wits, deception, and death (a winning combination in my book). Unfortunately, it gets a bit less interesting about half-way through the series, but its still enjoyable all the way through. On a side note, the animation quality is very good, among the best in my opinion.(8/10) [fugaho]

Elemental Gelade: Another good action/comedy series like FMA. The only thing I didn't really like was that the main character is a sky pirate, but ends up spending most of the series off a plane/ship and just walking. [Mavrik]

Fooly cooly: It's only 6 ep's but jammed packed with enough crap for 26.It's comedy, it's a sick kinda romance, its action, it's got a plot that you cant understand until you have watched it 3 times lol. It's fooly cooly.If your looking for 1 hell of a weird anime that differs from the others, fooly cooly is it. I find myself re watching it when I have the time, just to see if I missed anything the first 10 times.Highly recommended. Out of 10, this is one of the few animes I give a 10. [coolyfooly]
Fruits Basket
Full Metal Alchemist: This is one of those mixed genre series, where the main character usually offers a lot of comedic relief inbetween fight scenes, but will get serious when needed. The story is a little hard to follow at some points, and the filler episodes sometimes bring the series down, but there is plenty of action and great imagination in the series that make it worth watching.[Mavrik]

Gate Keepers: By "coolyfooly"
Genesis Of Aquarion: This anime has I have to say 1 really damn interesting story about angels, and the world. It's sort of almost religious but it isn't. Really sets the stage for a plot that keeps you wondering until the end. This also has ageing romance, with some ok comedy to keep the mood from depressing and some great mecha fighting.
I haven't been able to watch the movie which im hoping continues after the series, but from the 26 episode series, I give this anime a 9.1/10 [coolyfooly]
Get Backers
Girls Bravo: A perverted echhi to be sure. It's got alot of perverted comedy mixed with your echhi romance but not to strongly. Not really much of a plot except the last 3 episodes I believe. Mainly this is just your average echhi perverted comedy series to sick back and laugh at. (7.7/10) [coolyfooly]
Golden Boy: gotta say... this was 1 of the weird ass funny as hell to high mark top perversion animes I think I have ever watched.
I almost couldn't stand to watch it for as embarrassed as I was about the guys perversion and what a dumbass he was lol.
It's only 6 episodes and if you watch it in dub the dude has the most goofy idiotic voice lol. But I gotta say I enjoyed it. 8.7 for an eyefull and sheer entertainment. [coolyfooly]
Gun X Sword: This series has a bit of everything in it, some fighting, some gunfighting, and some Mech fighting. The story is a bit jumpy at times, kinda loosing me every now and then, but the series is really good and I had a great time watching it. [Mavrik]

Hajime no Ippo: If you like sports, this one capture a perfect image of boxers. one of the greatest sports ive ever watched. [silvermare]
Hellsing: The same concept as Trinity Blood (although TB probably got their whole series idea from Hellsing since it came out first). This series is a bit more bloody than TB, so consider this one to be the darker side of the story. [Mavrik]
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: review by "Aidanak47"
History`s Strongest Disciple Kenichi: Anime with good action/fight sequences, underdog story theme, where hardwork and perseverence overcomes adversity and natural talent. Combine that with some romance, it's a sure hit. 50 episodes in total. Didn't get a 10, only because I felt this series ended way too early, and never shows him reaching his full potential. Definitely recommend this though! (8.9/10) [derek240]

Initial D: This is a very good anime, especially if ur into cars and street racing. the races are very action packed with a lot of drifting.it is almost like tokyo drift. it also has a very good storyline aswell. they have made many fun arcade games from this show.Rating 8.0 [:AnimeAddict:]

Juuni Kokki: A political story set in an ancient china. with beast and monster (dont worry, its not a monster or beast story). the different from fushigi yuugi, fushigi yuugi story line mainly about romance while juuni kokki more to the political interest. juuni kokki was based from novel written by fuyumi ono. this one is a jewel. Kurau Phantom Memory: A solid drama with futuristic set and some supernatural spice. The animation just amazing. And the power isn't overused like some supernatural anime [silvermare]

Maburaho: It's a harem in the simplest sense. I really enjoyed watching this even though I thought it would suck. It's a funny harem romance about 3 women aiming to nail this kid, and have his kids.If you like harem romance and comedy this is for you. I give it a 9 out of 10 for being harem in the truest sense. Mahoromatic: is a comedy romance anime about a combat android.It's a great comedy, with some nice romance and an ok plot. Out of 10 id give it an 8. I really enjoyed it. However at each ending its disheartening to see them show her days slowly decreasing until her death. [coolyfooly]
Magikana: Ur average echhi with magic thrown in. Though the whole sibling echhi thing is kinda odd. Anyway it's got comedy, romance, not to much of a plot, and definitly fan service.Out of 10 Id give it a 6.5 It would have gotten maybe a 7.7 or 8 but the ending was so god damn idiotic. It's an ok watch though. [coolyfooly]

Ninja Scroll (Movie): The first ninja based movie I watched that just blew me away with the action and storyline. The whole concept of the movie and character development was top notch with great fight scenes. [Mavrik]

One Piece
Outlaw Star: This is an excellent anime, and my personal favorite at that. It's full of action in all forms: gun fights, sword fights, wrestling matches, space battles, and magic. You can't ask for more in an anime, it has everything and there's never a dull moment. I don't have anything negative to say about this, it's that enjoyable. You're missing out if you don't watch this series.(10/10) [fugaho]

Rune Soldier: A comedy anime with your basic swords and sorcery. Only this 1 has a dude who uses both but likes to brawl.Their really isn't a plot or anything, it's mostly just this guys day to day life, and how he manages to get his ass kicked by his companions for doing stupid things.Out of 10 everything considered from graphics to story to amusement. Id give it a 7.4. Wasn't the best anime, but I enjoyed watching it. [coolyfooly]

Samurai 7: Acutally one of the greatest live movies converted to anime, and the anime is worth the watch. [Mavrik]
Samurai Champloo: Probably one of my favorite anime series for many reasons. The story line is great, animation is great, the mixture of hip-hop and swordplay is great, and the characters are fun to follow. [Mavrik]

Seirei no Moribito: If u like a realistic term, try this one. The story it self based from the novel. the character, culture and even the world is really amazing. One of the toughest and believable heroine. [silvermare]
Shakugan no Shana: Add one part high school love comedy and one part action-packed supernatural fights, then top it off with a girl with flaming hair, blazing eyes. You will have Shakugan no Shana. [grandia yuki]

Tenchi Muyo: Now tenchi muyo is the ova. It's a really good anime series with alot of comedy to be sure, some fighting, and some ok romance. Nothing to deep in romance, but id say mid way between lighthearted and full on. The plot of the ova is pretty good but gets a bit confusing at least to me after ep 13. Still its a great echhi anime and recommended if you haven't seen it.Id rate it a 8.6 [coolyfooly]
Tenchi Muyo Universe: It's basically a retelling of the ova but with different changes and such as well as a change to the plot. More stright forward plot, with the same romance as the ova and a bit more comedy as well. Id rate it as 8.6 [coolyfooly]
Tenchi Muyo GXP: Sequel to the tenchi ova series. This is basically a comedy with light hearted romance and an echhi. Not that much of a plot, its more of a background filler to the characters shown at the end of the ova in gxp and the like. Still it's a fun watch. Id give this a 8.0 [coolyfooly]

This Ugly Yet Beautiful World: Basically your average anime. It has some comedy, some romance, some sci fi, and an average plot.But with the way the plot ran as well as what seemed like I was actually waiting for the episode to end but it was like a class that drags on. (4.9/10) [coolyfooly]
Trinity Blood: A basic vampire anime, where the main character works for the Vatican and kills vampires. Has a pretty good "church" setting to it and the story/action is really good. The main character of this one has more of a comical side (kinda like Full Metal Alchemist) so it keeps the series a little lighter than others. [Mavrik]

Utawarerumono: I enjoyed this anime because of the constant mystery surrounding the main character and the numerous military struggles. There is a relatively large cast of characters, so there are many stories to be told. The first part of the series is the most interesting, but the last part is a bit less so. (8.5/10) [fugaho]

Vandread: A nice mecha style anime with quite an emphasis on space combat all done in 3D (the anime is 2d but the vehicles and combat are in 3d).The story is also good..... 3 men in a ship manned by an all female crew but don't get fooled by that cuz this ain't no ecchi anime.I'll give 8.5 [ZinXIX]
Vampire Hunter D: If your into the whole Vampires hunting Vampires genre then this Movie is where it all started and where most series have based their ideas from. Although the story isn't as good as it could have been, the action and fight scenes make up for it. [Mavrik]
