This is the sequel series to Eureka Seven. The tv series airs in April 2012. The first chapter of the manga is already out. Give it a look and lemme know what ya think. Cheers
I can't wait! If the story is anywhere as good as the original, I'll love it. Plus It'll be nice to see what Bones can do with the E7 world with current animation technology.

Kinda... do not expect much of it. Well, I will watch it when it shows up, but... At least from trailer I haven't seen anything impressive. And as for me: sequels tend to be not so good as it's predecessors. So I won't anticipate much (that I won't be disappointed in worst case scenario).
And on other note: what, he's like Renton and Eureka son or what? Just look at him. Taken from Wikipedia: "The 13-year-old protagonist, Ao Fukai lives with an elderly doctor, Toshio, on Iwado Island in Okinawa. His father's whereabouts are unknown and his mother had disappeared 10 years ago." Man, if that is the case, that kinda sucks. They should have lived happily after.

Yeah he is Eureka and Renton's son but he gets the last name Fukai because the old man who adopts him last name is Fukai.
He adopts him after Eureka dies(shortly after Ao is born). I believe that Eureka is simply being taken back into the scub coral since there she has served her purpose there and because there is another Humanoid Coralian besides her on Earth (Ao).
Another suspicion I have is that Fukai is really Renton somehow. This is probably just because I want it to be but I would be overjoyed if it were true.

I am not up to date with the manga. Does it actually say
Spoiler:
That shes dead? I thought and what I have read from others is that she left the kid on the island and disappeared. And the reason Renton isn't around is because he is looking for Eureka. I didn't think it said anything about her being Dead. But like i said im not exactly up to date with it.

Spoiler:
Inhabitants of the island say that she died, but I just think that she has been taken back into the scub coral(which was reawakened).
This scenario is similar to what happened in Ep 19 of the first series, Acperience 2, when Eureka reawakened the scubs in the mines and proceeded to "go back" before Renton comes to save her.
If I am correct in thinking that Eureka has just been taken back into the scub coral, it is reasonable to believe that we will see her again in this series, same can be said for Renton. I am very hopeful of it.
It looks awesome, I'll definitely be watching it. The new kid is obviously their son, I find it slightly amusing that the anime description tries to omit that fact when anyone who looks at him can tell right away. Those new mechs look badass and ultra high tech too, the trailer radiates an aura of 'the next generation' and I like it.
Spoiler:
I doubt [or at least hope they won't] do that to Eureka. Its probably just a ploy and not what it seems. The anime is still named after her, so if she's not in it then this sequel will be dead on arrival.
